Seven years ago, when BIGDOGBRAG first started in Colorado Springs and soon after in Pueblo, we were the first local fun mud run in Southern Colorado. To this day, even with the national brands (with their big advertising budgets that go from city to city with huge trailers, and a large paid crew who can set up generic mud run courses in a few days) “discovering” what a great community of participants we have, we continue to keep our mud run truly local. We love all of our loyal fans from the south part of the state all the way up to Monument, Castle Rock and Denver, and BIGDOGBRAG couldn’t be any prouder to still be LOCAL and Colorado-strong. That’s why we’re known as THE Colorado Mud Run, right?
We have an incredible intern who graduated locally from UCCS (you’ll be getting to meet him soon with future posts on our blog and social media) the best local volunteers, and the most fun, most respected and most original mud run course in Colorado.
Our local focus continues in large part thanks to our wonderful local sponsors. This week we are honored to introduce you to IBEW Local 113, also known as “Colorado’s Best Electricians.” IBEW Local 113 representative Daniel Mondragon shared some insight about why their union of electricians is participating in the 2018 BigDogBrag…The Colorado Mud Run.
“We are super excited to participate in this upcoming BIGDOGBRAG event!! We like what the BIGDOGBRAG represents, supporting our beautiful Colorado Springs community! The culture at IBEW Local 113 is a very fun, family friendly environment, and we all enjoy a little friendly competition on and off the job. We have had very positive feedback since we mentioned to our members we were considering participating, so I believe we will have a great turn out.We are hearing some chatter about maybe an apprentice vs. journeyman challenge and we journeyman are ready to kick some butt! Bragging rights and pride are on the table.”
Daniel Mondragon, IBEW Local 113
Thanks for sharing, Daniel!
We agree that the fun and family friendly BIGDOGBRAG mud run is perfect for your culture, and we can’t wait to see who wins the apprentice vs. journeyman challenge. Our mascot, Blu, will be sure to pose for pictures with the winners, so you can keep the bragging rights going long after the course is completed.
